Brand Review : Nini Organics
issue five : a feast for gluttony
Brother and sister duo, Alex and Nicole, bring us a brand that truly reflects the sentiments of this issue. Enter, Nini Organics. (At this stage I burst into song and shake my non-existent pom-poms while cheering "Hey Nini, you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind!")
Not only was the range built around the idea of being a superfood for the skin with their facial products, but their bath range supports the idea of really, truly, taking some gluttonous "me time". And believe me when I tell you, once you've experienced a Nini-bath (my favourite is the Coco Mylk Bath, no other bath (product) will do. I am sure there is a song tune in there too.
Like most 'untainted' beauty brands, the motivation to start Nini Organics came from personal trials and tribulations. Alex' s dream of becoming an A-lister was shattered by, you guessed it...problematic skin (and by problematic, he assures me it was severe acne). When have you ever seen an A-lister with severe acne? However, inspired by sister Nicole's passion for veganism (she was a vegan before it was trendy) and organics, Alex ditched the toxic washes and medications bestowed upon him by doctors and began experimenting with more untainted ingredients to find a solution. Which he did. His skin now glows like a star instead. Ultimately, giving birth to what is his true calling...product developer and bringer of luxurious rejuvenation for others.
Nini products come in glass bottles so they can be reused (or recycled). Lovers of alliteration and purveyors of untainted beauty (and pomegranates) this duo might still be small, but they have big dreams and I have no doubt they will reach the moon.
My favourite bath time combo
COCO MYLK BATH
I love to bath, however, with my home city going through a severe water crisis, I have become acutely aware of how privileged we are to have the luxury of being able to soak away the stresses of the week. While, I have to admit that I haven't given up bathing all together, I am certainly cutting down and rather savouring the experience. This mouth-watering bath mylk powder is my go too when I am treating myself.
Bath time is a perfect time to apply a face mask and read (an actual book or magazine) or listen to some music or your favourite podcast that you haven't had the time to catch up on.
*Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Milk Powder), Bolus Alba (Australian Pink Clay), *Citrus Sinensis (Sweet & Blood Orange), *Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang Essential Oil)

COFFEE & CACAO FACE SCRUB
Who doesn't love coffee AND chocolate (okay, technically cacao as this is a vegan brand after all)? I sure do. So much so I am drinking coffee and eating chocolate as I write this. It should be easy to see why this delicious combo makes the list. A decadent blend of natural cleansing clays and organic coffee to lift impurities and help even blemishes. With a boost of Vitamin C and Thanaka which enhances your skin’s cell rejuvenation. It protects your skin from harmful toxins, leaving it bright and luminous. Just how we like it!
Mix with a few drops of purified water and massage into your skin for instant luminosity. rinse off & pat dry with a clean towel.
