Product Review : Tabitha James Kraan 4-in-1 Conditioner
issue four : the magician
If I were writing a treatment for an advert for Tabitha James Kraan 4-in-1 Conditioner it would read:
Instant Miracles and Life Long Hair Magic.
But I'm not writing an advert, I am writing a review. So here goes...
As my avid readers will know - and for those that don't - this is not a blog, but rather a platform. I very rarely review a product from a personal standpoint. However, this one is personal. It's about a life-changing product, and by "life" I mean hair. Because, let's face it, when your hair lets you down, life just ain't the same.
When I lived in a warmer climate and closer to ocean air, I had the kind of hair that induced hair envy. I am not a boastful person (usually) but I had GREAT hair! I loved my curls. I wore them with pride. Natural, wild and free. People would stop me in the street and comment on my hair.
Since relocating to a different continent, however, where the water is "hard", pollution is rife and the weather is schizophrenic, my curls began to take on the form of Medusa's hair. I had to banish my curls to live in an eternal 'top knot' because the very sight of them filled me with dread. Trust me when I say I have tried everything out there...but nothing worked. Not like this anyway.
A couple of years ago now, I was sent some TJK sample products to try out for my professional hair kit. With packaging fit for kings and queens, I used them sparingly and somewhat conventionally(which I have since come to find out is not at all the way to use them) with pleasant enough results. The handy travel size bottles were ever present in my session kit in case a model showed up with hair too grim to touch.
It wasn't until a couple of weeks ago, however, that I was privy to some product training with 'The Oracle' (aka Tabitha James Kraan) herself. That is when I began to see the real magic of this incredibly versatile product. (To be fair the entire range is mind-blowing, but I am going to focus on the task at hand for now.) She applied a generous amount if the 4-in-1 Conditioner to my dry (literally and figuratively) hair, and it instantaneously began to bring my hair back to life, right before everyone's very eyes.
Since that fateful day, I have been applying this glorious product with a brazen hand. I am pleased to report that I finally have my curls back. Free and flowing.
As a session stylist, the products are the perfect Prep & Prime solution. When hair is limp and lifeless, over processed and close to death, these products quite literally breath new life back into hair.
They come in two scent families, for your olfactory delight.
While of course, you can use it as a traditional conditioner or a leave-in one, the real magic of this product is that it can be layered (and trust me when I say you can't use too much) over its self or other TJK products. (The same way you layer your moisturiser over a serum) It's the most glorious styling aide. I use it personally as a curl cream, but have used it professionally as a finishing product to perfectly contour hair into the shape I want it to go.
